Greimas and Roland Barthes. The narrative is recognized as a self-regulating mechanism where human choice acts as a functional illusion. The relationship between the physical form of the epic and its underlying concepts is the main mechanism through which meaning is determined. The clash between Achilles and Agamemnon is viewed as a total value-crash within a Mediocristan baseline, a term for a stable and predictable setting. This social breakdown forces high-impact Extremistan shocks, which are defined as unpredictable and volatile events. Within the plot, such shocks are delivered by the divine powers, the Olympian pantheon. This study demonstrates that divine communication operates as a regulatory mechanism. Whenever the terrestrial order breaks down, the gods intervene to regulate the system.
