{"id":11,"date":"2023-06-21T08:36:14","date_gmt":"2023-06-21T08:36:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arucadjournal.com\/?page_id=11"},"modified":"2023-09-08T08:56:43","modified_gmt":"2023-09-08T08:56:43","slug":"guide-for-authors","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/arucadjournal.com\/?page_id=11","title":{"rendered":"Guide for Authors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>Authors must follow these instructions carefully to avoid delays in submission, peer-review and publication processes.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>1.Submission of Manuscripts<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The language of the journal is Turkish and English. American English or UK English are fine so long as there is consistency. After the submission, the manuscripts will be edited according to the journal submission format and authors may be requested for some corrections or for addition of any missing.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>2. Preparation of Manuscripts<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The cover letter, title page, text with references, tables and a list of figure captions should be prepared as separate Word documents.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>2.1. Cover Letter<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The cover letter must state that the manuscript has been written and approved by all authors, that it presents an original and unpublished work; and that it has not been submitted to, or is not under review process in another journal. It must contain the names and signatures of all authors. The scan of the cover letter is acceptable.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><b>2.2. Title Page<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The cover page must contain a concise and informative title; names, affiliations (department, faculty, university, city and country) and e-mail addresses of all authors, and identify the corresponding author.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>2.3. Abstract<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>A concise and informative abstract in English must not exceed 250 words in length, must summarize the purpose, methods and major findings of the paper. For manuscripts submitted in Turkish language, an English abstract should also be provided. For manuscripts submitted in English language, a Turkish abstract should also be provided.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>2.4. Keywords<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The article must have maximum 5 keywords which must be sorted in alphabetical order and separated by comma. Keywords must be carefully selected to facilitate the readers\u2019 search.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><b>2.5. Text<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Text must not exceed 7000 words (excluding references and footnotes) and must be typed in 1.5 lines spacing by using Arial font with 12 points. All pages must be numbered consecutively. All headings should be bold and must be numbered consecutively and hierarchically. Authors, for whose English is not the native language, are strongly encouraged to have their manuscript carefully edited prior to<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>submission. Also, authors are recommended to perform spell checking of the text. Within the text, avoid the use of footnotes and endnotes, if unavoidable, label as (1), (2) and list all together at the end of the page where they occur.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>2.6 Format<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The manuscript\u2019s title should be in Arial font (14 point size). The title should be capital, bold and centered. Author or authors full name and affiliation appears after the heading (Arial font-10 point size-aligned left). The main body of the text should be in Arial font (12 points). Text must be typed in 1.5 lines spacing and aligned left. All the headings should be bold and aligned left. All the headings should be numbered consecutively and hierarchically.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>2.7. Acknowledgement<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>If necessary, acknowledgements should be provided. The author or authors can acknowledge any support given which may include administrative or technical support.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>2.8. References<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The style and punctuation of the references must follow the APA referencing style. References in the manuscript must give the surname of the author and the year of publication in round brackets. The references must be listed in alphabetical order of authors\u2019 names and in chronological order for each author. The upper and lower case rules and punctuation types of APA style must be carefully followed. Preparation of Tables and Figures<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Tables and figures must not be embedded in the article. The proposed location of figures and tables must be indicated in the article by using [Figure 1] and [Table 1] format.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Tables must be provided after the references and each table should be placed on a single page. They must be consecutively numbered and must have a brief informative caption. The caption must be provided before the table and written in \u201cTable 1. Name of the table\u201d format. If necessary, explanatory footnotes must be brief, placed beneath the table and indicated by (*).<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Figures must be numbered consecutively throughout the paper and provided as separate image files. Figures must be in grayscale or in black-and-white with minimum 300 dpi resolution as jpeg format. Figures must be named as they named in the article in \u201cFigure 1. Name of the figure\u201d format. Figure captions must also be listed at the end of the article, after the tables.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>4. Symbols, Abbreviations and Conventions<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Symbols, abbreviations and conventions in papers must follow the recommended SI Units. Abbreviations must be defined in brackets after their first mention in the text in accordance with internationally agreed rules.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>5. Mathematical Expressions<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Mathematical symbols and formulae must be typed and any other application or program must not be used. Particular care must be exercised in identifying all symbols and avoiding ambiguities. Distinction must be made between the number one (1) and letter (I) and between the number (0) and the letter (O). Equation numbers must appear in parentheses and numbered consecutively. All equation numbers must appear on the right hand side of the equation and must be referred to within the text.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>6. Copyright and Originality<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>It is the author\u2019s responsibility to obtain written permission from authors and publishers of any previously published material; text, tables, figures, etc.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The compliance of the manuscripts with the ethical rules is the responsibility of the authors. The similarity index to other scientific publications should not exceed 20%. However, the editor reserves the right to request an ethics committee document from the authors when necessary<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"> .<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>7. Book Reviews and Notes<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>A book review must run between 1500-3000 words, which give scope for an assessment of the book and its contribution to knowledge and discussion within the broad field of architecture, planning and design. Reviews must be typed in double spacing by using Arial font with 12 points. Name, affiliation and e-mail address of the reviewer must be given. A photograph of book cover must be provided in jpeg format.
